How We Check Material Composition
Test method selection depends on the required elements, material type, sample condition and applicable specification.
Spectrometer
Direct-reading spectrometers can be used for multi-element analysis and may include carbon measurement. Portable X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometers provide fast, convenient on-site alloy identification and grade comparison for suitable elements and materials.
Metal Material Analyzer
Metal material analysis systems can support element determination for a range of steels, cast irons and alloys. Depending on the system and test method, high-frequency induction with infrared analysis may be used for carbon and sulfur, while other elements may be determined through suitable analytical techniques.
